What is a Downpipe?

A downpipe is a section of exhaust piping installed at the very beginning of the exhaust system, directly after the turbocharger. It replaces the factory pipe that usually contains the catalytic converter.

By installing a downpipe, exhaust gases can flow more freely and efficiently through the system. This improves engine performance by allowing the turbocharger to spool faster.

As a result, the engine can rev more easily, acceleration becomes more responsive, and turbo lag is reduced.
